Your HIV status stays private
On Haven, your HIV, HSV, or HPV status is never shown publicly. It is visible only to people you have matched with, and only after you approve the match. You control when and how you disclose — and you can hide your profile from entire age ranges or health statuses if you want to.
Verified profiles
Every profile that carries the blue-tick badge has been manually verified by our team. Verification is available through the app's Diamond Shop and is permanent once granted.
24/7 moderation
Haven has a full-time moderation team. Every report of harassment, nudity, violence, racism, stigma, or child safety concern is reviewed by a human — not just filtered automatically. Confirmed violations result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban.
Reporting
You can report any profile, photo, story, or message directly from the app. Reporting options include:
- Child safety / Underage user — highest-priority category, reviewed immediately
- Nudity or sexual content
- Violence or dangerous content
- Harassment or bullying
- Stigma or discrimination
- Racist content
- Spam or scam
- Other — describe it in your own words
Zero tolerance on child safety
Haven has a zero-tolerance policy on Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) and Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). Any account found to involve minors, CSAM, grooming, or sexualised contact with minors is permanently banned and reported to the appropriate authorities, including the South African Police Service (SAPS) and, where applicable, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Haven is strictly for adults 18 and over. Date of birth is required at signup, and any account indicating a user is under 18 is rejected. Read our full Child Safety Standards.
Phone number visibility
When you add a WhatsApp number to your profile, you choose who can see it:
- Nobody — no one sees your number, even matches
- Only my matches — people you've matched with can WhatsApp you
- Users who have requested — people with a pending request to you can WhatsApp you
- Matches and requesters — the default; both groups can WhatsApp you
Your number is never shown publicly and is never indexed by search engines.
Blocking
Block any user to instantly unmatch, delete the conversation, and remove them from your discovery feed. A blocked user cannot see your profile, message you, or find you again.
Your data
Your profile is not indexed by search engines. We do not sell or trade your data. All data is stored on encrypted servers. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app (Profile → Delete Account), or by emailing pastperfect@havenpositive.online from the address linked to your account. Deletion removes your profile, photos, matches, messages, and story posts within 24 hours.
