We exist because meeting someone is hard enough already — doing it with a status that most dating apps treat as a dealbreaker is harder.

South Africa has one of the highest HIV burdens in the world, with more than 8 million people living with the virus. A large share of those people want to date, make friends, and find community — but most mainstream dating apps are built for an audience that doesn't include them.
Studies from Johannesburg and Gauteng consistently find the same thing: fear of rejection stops people from disclosing their status, and fear of stigma stops them from dating at all. One recent qualitative study quotes a participant describing it as: "I was scared dating… who would take me with my status?"
Haven exists to answer that question. On Haven, your status is not a disclosure. It is shared ground.

Haven is strictly for adults (18 and over) living with HIV, HSV-1, HSV-2, HPV, or other chronic conditions, and for anyone who wants to date and connect within that community. We do not allow minors on the platform under any circumstances.

Haven is developed and operated by SkyEd (Pty) Ltd, a South African registered company. The app is built in South Africa, for South Africa, with a growing community across Gauteng, the Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Eastern Cape.
